The restaurants/cafes must follow City Health Codes. City staff have specifically toured the facility at Morning Glory restaurant and inspected the collecting operation. The aluminum container on the TriHauler is washed down after each use. The five-gallon buckets are washed at either the SCF site or at CAT. They are placed on pegs on the wall of the SCF shed to dry. The wormbin and rotary composters are semi-enclosed units and therefore easy to keep clean. The ground-based compost piles are mixed with woodchips from the City’s Facility Department (to decrease odors). They are covered with straw to prevent odor and an unsanitary appearance.
